Honeywell releases report on China air quality, establishes research center

Honeywell on May 22 released its first report on China's air quality, including the causes behind the pollution as well as solutions for addressing it. The report, titled Honeywell Industrial Green Upgrade Report: Air Quality Management, helps provide solutions for Chinese companies to achieve a balance between environmental protection and economic benefit in line with national environmental policies. The report introduces several technologies, services and products to help contribute to the country’s vision of a "Beautiful China".
In conjunction with the report, Honeywell also announced that is has created a Honeywell China Environmental Research Center. The center will focus on market and technology research. It plans to issue every year up to two reports on China's environmental endeavors, markets, as well as the application and forecast of environmental technologies every year.
The report examines the existing air quality problems in China by analyzing the automotive, industrial manufacturing and petrochemical industries. It also focuses on solutions to climate anomalies and challenges, how to utilize energy in a cleaner and more efficient manner and how to increase productivity and reduce resource waste. Through knowledge popularization, policy interpretation and case study analysis, the report elaborates on how corporations should adapt to the country's green development process under the new landscape.
"Environmental protection and the quality of the air concerns everyone and is a shared responsibility of the entire community," said William Yu, vice-president and general manager for Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies in Asia Pacific.
"Honeywell has played an exemplary role model in developing innovative environmentally preferable technologies, which are indispensable in China’s efforts in overcoming environmental challenges,” said Li Junfeng, the first director of the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation.
