Service industry saw an increase of 8% in H1

In the first half of the year, the national service industry production index increased by 8 percent year-on-year. Although the growth rate dropped by 0.1 percentage points from the first quarter, it still maintained a relatively fast growth rate.
The service industry continuously make contributions to economic growth, reaching 60.5 percent in the first half of this year with an increase of 1.4 percentage points over the same period last year.
While the overall supporting role of the service industry being strengthened, the emerging service industry is booming.
In the first five months, the operating income of strategic emerging service industries, science and technology service industries and high-tech service industries above designated size increased by 18.1 percent, 17.5 percent and 15.4 percent respectively.
