NBS: Shanghai tops household consumption list for first half of 2018

Shanghai had the most consumption expenditure for the first half of 2018, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

In the first half of this year, Shanghai's per capita disposable income was 32,612 yuan ($4,770), and its per capita consumption expenditure was 21,321 yuan, both the highest in the country.

It also shows that the per capita consumption expenditure of Chinese residents reached 9,609 yuan in the first half of 2018, an increase of 6.7 percent year-on-year.

Following Shanghai as the most dynamic regions in terms of consumption are Beijing, Tianjin, Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces.
