On Aug 17, the First China 3D Printing Film Forum was held in Beijing, gathering more than 200 participants from companies, research institutes and government sectors, who shared their perspectives on the innovation of additive manufacturing and the application of 3D printing in the film industry.
“The world is going through the third industrial revolution.” said Dr Jiang Wenbo, the Executive Deputy Director of the R&D Center of 3D Printing of the Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital. Observers believe that 3D printing could be integrated with the film industry in role design and the manufacture of animation-related products. “Most people get to know a film not from the advertising videos, but through the prevailing toys and souvenirs that relate to the film. That is exactly where the opportunities of 3D printing lies,” a film producer said.
