China’s success depends on the hard work of its people and on the socialist path with Chinese characteristics chosen by the Chinese people, according to Xinhua News Agency.

Since China started its epic reform and opening-up 40 years ago, more than 700 million Chinese people have shaken off poverty. With average annual GDP growth of more than 9 percent from 1989 until 2018, China has become the world’s second- largest economy.

China has fostered trade partnerships with more than 230 countries and regions, and has become the largest trading partner of more than 120 of them. Without doubt, China’s success could not have been achieved without mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries.

Two months before US Vice President Mike Pence’s Oct 4 speech about US policy toward China, the US coffee chain Starbucks partnered with the Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba on coffee delivery to boost its business in China, which illustrates mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the US and should not be ignored.

China’s cooperation and connection with the outside world will surely deliver more benefits not only for China but also for the whole world.
