The book is mainly written by Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker and Anders Wijkman, the co-presidents of the Club of Rome, along with 36 other members. The Chinese edition was translated by Cheng Yiheng, professor at Tongji University.

Wijkman and Cheng both spoke at the launch and discussed the sustainable future of human beings and the planet. Topics  also involved climate change, environmental protection, sustainable agriculture, population growth. Zhou Jinfeng, secretary-general of CBCGDF and newly-selected member of the executive committee of the Club of Rome, presided over the launch. Li Dihua, executive dean of the Graduate School of Landscape Architecture, Peking University made an opening address.

Limits to Growthtells people that if we do not change the economic development model, we would face a material shortage in the next 100-150 years. Now 50 years on, the global population has risen from 3 billion to 7.6 billion, and the economy has increased tenfold, but the main challenges we face remain the same,” Wijkman said.

“The Chinese version of Come On! will continue to awaken more people to explore the way forward for sustainable development.” Zhou Jinfeng added.
