China firmly opposes the United States in smearing it on cybersecurity issues and "inciting" two Chinese nationals citing so-called "cyber espionage”, spokesperson Hua Chunying said on Dec 21, according to the Foreign Ministry website.

Hua said in a statement that the US move is vicious in nature, severely violating the basic norms governing international relations and damaging the cooperation between the two countries. For a long time, it is not secret that some US departments have engaged in large-scale cyber espionage and surveillance activities against other governments, enterprises and individuals.

China resolutely opposes such accusations and has lodged solemn representations to the US, Hua said.
