FM: World Bank positively affirmed China's efforts in contrast VOA's report
Foreign Ministry | Updated: 2018-12-25 11:28

A report released by the World Bank positively affirmed the Chinese government's policy measures to address external risks, promote economic growth and boost investor confidence, the Foreign Ministry website quoted the spokesperson Hua Chunying as saying, regarding a Voice of America report that the World Bank's report advised China to intensify its efforts to correct unfair trade practices, the Foreign Ministry website quoted.

The report by the Voice of America was not accurate, Hua said. We have also seen the report released by the World Bank, Hua added, which pointed out that trade tensions and rising uncertainties could have an impact on global trade and income, yet made no mention of "advising China to intensify its efforts to correct unfair trade practices".

As everyone knows, China has always supported open and free trade and firmly upheld the multilateral trading system. China doesn't want a trade war with any country. It is very clear what has led to and who is to blame for the current situation, and the international community also has a fair judgment on that, Hua said.
