New Economy: Looking at challenges and opportunities

Recently, Bloomberg in New York and the China Center for International Economic ExchangesI in Beijing, jointly announced that the New Economy Forum would be held in Beijing from November 20 to 22 this year.

Established in 2009, CCIEE is a registered national high-end think tank and association authorized by the Chinese government. With the principle of “serving national development, improving well-being and promoting communication”, CCIEE provides consultation and intelligence support internationally.

More than 500 entrepreneurs from all over the world, including Michael Bloomberg, Henry Kissinger, Zeng Peiyan, Henry Paulson, Gary Cohn, Bill Gates, Liu Zhiping, Jack Ma, Strive Masiyiwa, Lubna Olayan, Condoleezza Rice, Lawrence Summers, Dong Jianhua, Zhang Lei, and Zhou Xiaochuan among others, will join the second forum near the Yanxi Lake, sharing opinions on technology and the new economy.

The New Economy Forum focuses on worldwide economic governance, trade, technology, capital markets, climate change, inclusive development and urbanization. Targeting protectionism and unilateralism which are among the global challenges currently threatening the world, it aims to discuss solutions. It also tends to find look for ways to solve problems using important new engines in a new era so that global sustainable development can be improved and inequality reduced.

The forum was set up in 2008 by Michael Bloomberg who is the former mayor of New York, the founder of Bloomberg Limited Partnership and the founder of the Bloomberg Charity Foundation. By accelerating the transformation of the old economy to the new, in other words, from the old economy of labor-intensive manufacturing industry and goods trade to the new economy relying on industrial automation, digitization, intelligent services and data exchange.

This unique, new and global platform enables political and business leaders to carry out open communication with facts and data, sharing opinions on how to reduce the impact of global transformation.

Michael Bloomberg said that the world is now experiencing great and profound changes. And a new economic center and trade alliance is shaping the new industrial structure with new technology.

In the talks on the above issues, China’s participation is absolutely necessary. And CCIEE wants cooperation between developing and developed countries to build a peaceful, prosperous and wonderful shared community.
